Homemade Car Grooming Products: The Best Way To Say You Care

By Judy Post

Is your anniversary fast approaching and you are looking for the ideal gift to give to your partner? Well, if your husband or partner is a car enthusiast, he would certainly appreciate it if you surprise him with a present composed of various car grooming products.

Manufacturing Your Own Car Grooming Products

However, most car grooming products sold nowadays are produced with synthetic and toxic ingredients (probably the chamois cloths are an exemption). Considering that many individuals spend a large amount of time inside vehicles while they are commuting, this situation presents some danger. You have to look for a way to help lessen the amount of harmful substances that your loved one gets exposed to while inside the car.

Most surely, you would wish your loved one to be safe day in and day out, and could not imagine giving him something that can cause him harm in the long run. So, why not make your own batch of homemade car grooming products? Most car grooming products are quite simple to make; you can make a large batch so that you can give presents to your loved ones and to friends who are all car fanatics.

Homemade Car Grooming Shampoo

The base component for your homemade car grooming shampoo is soap gel, which is quite easy to make. Collect soap scraps; alternately, you can grate a bar of soap. Place the soap in a heavy-bottomed pot and pour boiling water over it. Leave the mixture in a safe place where the soap can melt; it should form a liquid with the consistency of shampoo or thicker than this. This is now your main soap gel for the car grooming product you wish to make.

Then, in a pail, pour in about 4 liters of water and about one half cup of soap gel. You can then add eight to 12 drops of essential oil (pine, lemon, or lavender scented would do nicely). Make sure to stir so that the mixture is well combined. Afterwards, you can then transfer the homemade car shampoo into bottles. You can give this to your guy as a present, along with a soft brush. Then you can have one weekend together washing his car.
